cart before the horse

when i was a little kid, i learned division before i knew how to multiply. infact, i was so stuck on the fact that i learned them backwards, that it took me forever to learn multiplication.

division also just seemed more natural.

i learn a lot of things in a counter intuitive order. i used to worry about that... now i see it as an edge. unfortunately though, i can see where in approximately thirty years, i'll see it as a shortcoming. with any luck, i can make the edge worth having before that happens.
